Proprietary research is at the core of our business, based on a combination of qualitative research and quantitative analysis. Our extensive database covers both traditional long-only investment managers and alternative investment strategies.
Research principles
Research is carried out by ex-senior fund managers with extensive knowledge of investment management and company analysis. We have no style bias and treat all managers fairly and on merit.
We search for investment management firms with robust and stable structures as we believe that this is critical to the sustainability of investment performance.
Research process
We interview the individuals within each firm who would be managing our client's portfolios, gaining a thorough understanding of the managers' investment approach and their appetite for risk.
We believe there are two ways of generating good performance: either a rigorous and formulaic approach is strictly adhered to or an individual manager has developed a personalised system as a result of extensive market experience. In both cases we need to assess whether the investment philosophy tallies with the track record produced in order to be clear whether the philosophy outlined is being followed.
Reports
We produce a variety of different reports dependent upon the requirements of the client. Our reports are designed to give clear, concise headline information, backed up by more in-depth analysis.
